there is no budget. we can't get a budget here because senator harry reid doesn't want that to happen. that is where there is a lot of tie up. as a rin governor in a very democratic state of massachusetts he got things passed. >> he did. it's a particularly effective discussion for him to develop because as you know and you and i had this discussion most americans want to see things get done of they want to see problems solved and what mitt rom fee has done is fix things. and this is to work as cross the line. he's had to do that when running lirp olympics so that is something american people want to hear. i would be willing to bet if you looked at focus groups and polls during that that part of the debate that probably scored off the charts. it's a theme he needs to develop within the remaining days of the campaign. >> any thoughts looking ahead to the debate on foreign policy? it's not something governor romney has been having a lot of experience in. and any thought on that one? >> well, there is a target rich environment. the president has a dismal record there. tonight talking about domestic pol

and having a discussion, on this important topic, you pushed something through that you and harry reid and nancy pelosi thought was the best answer and pushed it through. what we did, we worked together. 200 legislators, only 2 voted against the plan. we didn't raise taxes, we didn't cut medicare by $716 billion. we didn't put in place a board that can tell people ultimately what treatments they're going to receive. we didn't also do something that i think a number of people across this country recognize, which is put people in a position where they're going to lose the insurance they had and they wanted. right now, the cbo says up to 20 million people will lose their insurance as obama care goes into effect next year. and likewise, a study by mckenzie and company said 30% are anticipating dropping them from coverage. for those reasons, for the tax, medicare, for this board, for people losing their insurance, this is why people don't want obama care, it's why republicans said do not do this 37. the republicans had a plan, they put it out, it was a bipartisan plan, it was swept aside. i

people with not one republican vote. didn't even ask for one. he and nancy pelosi and harry reid. >> the point eloquently during the debate actually in -- i thought he did that very well. that's not exactly my question. my question is what you said is during the campaign, you know, you lean to the right and then you come back to the center when you are actually in the general election. so to me that is you say one thing for a certain audience to get them to support and you then say something different, maybe completely contradictory to another audience which some could define as lying. is that an etch a sketch moment what we are seeing? >> some could refer to that as campaign tactics. good campaign tactics without violating one's principle. i -- nobody is more conservative than -- congress and house than phil gingrey. i'm in the top seven, tied for first. i felt very comfortable with what the president said the other night during the debate. with what mitt romney said. i am very comfortable with his position and i have no doubt that he will govern to the right of center and that'
